Thank you so much 🤍

Reducing yourself to be understood is simply leading yourself to be misunderstood. I have been there done that, I never felt good enough.

But I have found being genuine brings about the right people and that is important

I couldn’t agree more my friend. It always surprises me to see how linear our journeys have been. Your presence is always a gift. Thank you for being here. 🖤

I don’t have words.. or maybe I have too many words! I don’t want to edit my comment any more….

This reads like a full-scale audit of your soul—complete with emotional spreadsheets, overdue self-blame, and some truly clingy regrets that refuse to be archived. I love how the “burden” and “distorted truth” aren’t abstract—they’re practically filing formal complaints against you. The journey from chaos to sunlight reads like the universe decided to show up with coffee and say, “Here. Handle this.”

Your language mirrors the mood perfectly: short, clipped lines when the self is collapsing, longer, flowing phrases when warmth arrives. It’s like your syntax did yoga while your emotions were still in a fight-or-flight stance.

And that plot twist at the end? Pure unchosen brilliance. It’s the kind of twist that doesn’t need a Netflix subscription but still makes you gasp, maybe laugh, and definitely rethink your life choices.

This work honors the unchosen moments that shape us, and reminds us—sometimes the soul’s messy, fragile, and fractured… and sometimes it’s just hilariously dramatic about it.

Dipti, this is such a generous and a thoughtful reading. I couldn’t thank you enough for this, I’m honoured by your reflection. I’m so glad that it landed as profoundly.

I’m in a place where I no longer force outcomes the way I used to, and that has brought me into a deeper state of acceptance. I think that’s what’s been reflected in my work lately. When I read your opening lines about not wanting to edit your comments anymore, it genuinely made me smile. It felt aligned, like we’ve both reached that place of being done with polishing and are choosing instead to embrace the state of simply being.

I really enjoyed reading your comment, especially your last sentence about the soul. I couldn’t agree more.

I’m always wholeheartedly grateful for your presence. Engaging with you is a joy, and your kind words mean more to me than I can say. Thank you for being here.

Exactly—polish is overrated, chaos is caffeinated, and simply being feels surprisingly luxurious, choosing simply being feels like finally hitting ‘send’ on a lifetime of drafts.

You've captured the quiet radical act of reclaiming yourself, imperfections intact. This reads like someone who has genuinely sat with their shadows and chosen, finally, to speak.

imi's avatar

It means a lot to know it landed. I love how you put it. “Reclaiming oneself, imperfections intact.” I will adopt that phrase. Thank you so much for engaging so thoughtfully.

This felt like a quiet exhale. I love how the poem moves from compulsion and self-blame toward something warmer and more settled, without rushing or forcing clarity. The final turn, letting the unchosen stage a plot twist, was deeply human. This was a beautiful piece to sit with, imi. 💚

imi's avatar

Thank you so much for such a generous reading. You captured the flow perfectly and I couldn’t be more grateful to the presence you read it with. I think my latest works really does reflect a current shift where I don’t try to resolve things but just sit with. Thank you so much for naming it with such clarity, your reflection allowed me the space to do so as well. ♥️

JGWunderlich's avatar

Thank you, imi. That’s very kind of you to say, and I’m grateful the reflection offered some space back to you. 💚

imi's avatar

I’m grateful that you offered it. And of course to your presence as well. Thank you so much for being here. 🫶

imi this is extraordinary. I keep returning to lines of the unchosen and and the return to your imperfect being. That transition means the most to me. As always, I read twice and listened twice because it's so damn good!

Sam,

I couldn’t thank you enough for such a thoughtful reading. Knowing that the lines of the unchosen and the return to imperfect being stayed with you means more than I can say. I’m deeply grateful for the care, the attention, and the presence you bring to my work. I’m really glad it landed.

Thank you for being here and for meeting the piece so fully.

Imi,

this is awesome! Yes, I’m giving you a different sort of comment than your used to from me because it’s via phone (long story). But The Chosen is amazing. I listened to it as soon as I saw it come through - couldn’t wait. Really brilliantly beautiful and packs a punch. Nice, nice job!

Always will be here, imi. Keep the incredible momentum going, but only as long as you keep feeling it, please don’t overdo. Take care of you.

imi's avatar

Kelly, I can’t say how much reading these words felt aligned. As if, you’ve been inside my mind, as if you felt it. Timing couldn’t be more telling and I will take it as a sign. I needed that. Thank you so much, truly.

I’m smiling. So glad for this, for you. Thank you, Imi. Be well.

And I’m returning that smile back to you right now through my own expression. You made my evening Kelly. Thank you for being here. 🫶
