Looking Without Trying to Define
A presence that stays long after the moment is gone.
As sunlight slowly stretches,
swallowing the clouds,
turning the grey and white sky
into a blood orange horizon,
my curtains remain closed,
restraining life to the outdoors.
Waking up later than noon,
forcing myself over to my closet,
seeing only black and white clothes,
like a night
lacking stars,
wishing it never caught up,
so I wouldn’t notice
when they were gone.
The morning before,
going to bed with a smile,
looking at pictures
of blue light
holding the night,
pulsing with loud hearts,
where a story
had not yet unfolded.
My phone buzzing,
foreshadowing a smile
after reading the text,
“I had very much fun with you
last night.”
Yet the characters only made it
as far as five pages
into the first chapter.
A window,
not remaining open
all the time,
but pointing out a scene
looking beautiful
until its season is gone.
A gaze meeting mine
from the mirror,
without trying to define.
Author’s note:
I build this space with intention. Not just to publish, but to create experiences. Philosophical essays woven through lived moments. Psychological reflections that sit with you longer than you expect. Mythic pieces that feel ancient and immediate at once. Poetry. Audio. Visual worlds that take hours to shape into three quiet minutes. Most of it is free. On purpose.I believe in access, that stories should be easy to stumble into. But these immersive pieces — the videos, the sound design, the pacing, the edits, the layering, writing itself take time. Deep time. Focused time. Devoted time.
Paid subscriptions are what make that depth, experimentation and presence sustainable. If this space has ever steadied you, if a piece ever articulated something you couldn’t, iff you’ve ever felt quietly accompanied here and if you’re in a position to do so, becoming a paid subscriber is the simplest way to keep this alive.
Because if I could do this every day, all day, I would.
With joy. With devotion. With everything I have. And your support makes that future real.

Beautifully written, imi. I really liked the poem. Will give the song version a listen later, you're always so good at putting those together.
I love the mystery in each stanza anticipating the next.
