Beautifully written, imi. I really liked the poem. Will give the song version a listen later, you're always so good at putting those together.

Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughtful engagement, as ever. It means a lot to know you liked it. I look forward to your thoughts on the video. This turned out to be one of the bests for me.

I love the mystery in each stanza anticipating the next.

I’m so happy to see that my lines were able to capture that restraint. Thank you so much for your thoughtful engagement.

a gaze meeting mine, our thoughts and feelings intertwine...

A presence that lingers never falls short

of a gaze I felt acquainted with before the meeting arrived.

What if we were never apart?

People pass each other, a five second "Do I know you?" can course us onto knowing that we were always entwined and betwixted like binary star systems.

The universe, old weaver, threaded silence into stars, secrets into time, and it does not forget what it’s owed.

A presence that stays when the curtain falls and the actors are gone is far stronger than words that repeatedly fall short. 🤍

This poem feels like waking up with yesterday still clinging to you, even though the morning has already moved on.

The contrast between the bright sunrise outside and the closed curtains inside says so much about wanting the world to slow down.

The black‑and‑white clothes feel like a reflection of a mood that hasn’t quite found its colour again.

There’s something tender in the way the poem remembers the night before full of blue light, loud hearts, and the feeling that something new might happen.

The text message is sweet, but it carries that quiet ache of a story that barely had time to begin.

I love the image of the window that doesn’t stay open forever, but still gives you a glimpse of something beautiful while it lasts.

It captures that bittersweet truth that some moments are fleeting, and that doesn’t make them any less real.

The poem moves gently between hope and disappointment, without bitterness just a soft acceptance of how things sometimes unfold.

And that final look in the mirror feels grounding, like meeting yourself again after a moment you didn’t want to end.

It’s a poem about holding on to small, passing moments, and learning not to force them into something they’re not.

In Donnie Darko, the most beautiful words are "Cellar Door." IMI YOU OPENED THAT DOOR. The residual haunting of your yarned words gravitate us across dimensional frontiers. You made a symphony in my 4 quartered heart kore. Thank you for the effect of larger than life when I thought I was small, Rob

If my words made you feel larger when you were feeling small, then that means everything. You are big. You always were. Sometimes we just need a mirror that doesn’t distort us.

Thank you for feeling it so deeply. Thank you for being here. It means more than you know.

I am amazed at the way you are exploring the visual and sound modes of storytelling. You are experimenting with a different art form.

Now, the poem? Lovely in and of itself.

A season that's only beautiful until it's gone. Written wondrously.

My follow up question: is that true of any happy or beautiful time?

imi's avatar

Thank you so much friend, it means a lot 🤍

I think it holds its ground for all of it. Sadly, the only permanent thing in life is its permanence. But not everything has to be gone though it never stays the same and whether or not you'll see what's next as a beautiful time is the wonder of our perception. I really enjoyed replying to you. Let's keep the philosophical discussions going.
